So, after the birth of my second daughter last week fishing has had to take a bit of a back seat. However the customary visitors have been coming and going. This was used to my advatage on Sunday and I stole a few hours on the bank.
I headed over to Cow Bridge. A place I havent fished for 20 years plus. I was drop shotting with all kinds of rubber - none of which produced a bite. I had spoken to Alastair Allan via FB and he had caught some nice Perch around here so I didnt give up.
The time flew and darkness was looming. I decided to ditch the fake and go real. A few chopped lobs went in along with a few maggots. I then put half a lobworm on and used the dropshot rod and rig like a quiver tip. Laying the rod on the bank and keeping the line tight.
That little sticky out bit opposite the white camper is where I went.
What a great fish. Not massive but with markings like that who cares?
There could be worse places to be
Bang!!! The big boy. 1.5ibs-2ibs I reckon. A new PB. I was very excited!
I would have stayed on as the Perch seemed to be in the mood for some grub (maggots) and worms. It just goes to show you cant beat the real deal.
